About the Founder
Zeynep Ugan is an arts and design consultant specializing on modern and contemporary art as well as crafts from the Middle East and Turkey. As an art historian by training, she turned her passion for arts, interior design and crafts into helping clients to source unique works of contemporary art, craft objects, collectible design and textiles for interiors.
She has accumulated over 16 years of experience in organising exhibitions, artist liaison, art fairs and collection management through her previous research based, curatorial as well as commercial roles in London, including at the Victoria & Albert Museum, and Pi Artworks and Riflemaker Galleries.
Zeynep has also contributed to academic journals and mainstream art and design magazines with exhibition reviews and articles on artistic trends since 2011 and continues to write exhibition catalogues for galleries.
Her unique sense of style combines contemporary art and design from the wider Middle-East region with antique textiles, crafts objects as well as ceramics by collaborating with local dealers, galleries, artists and artisans based in Istanbul, Beirut and Marrakech.
At the same time, growing up by being surrounded by Ottoman architecture in her native Istanbul and interiors filled with intricate antique carpets, Iznik ceramics, hand-embroidered textiles as well as contemporary geometric designs, Zeynep aims to connect the old and the new by bringing her knowledge of contemporary art and design as well as her eye for vintage textiles and quality crafts to elevate contemporary interiors.
A graduate of the Certificate Course in Interior Design and Decoration at the Inchbald School of Design in London, Zeynep also offers practical knowledge of interior design trends with an understanding of how to incorporate collectible art, design and textiles into living spaces in order to create a timeless, meaningful, authentic and welcoming interior style.
